Travel management company Reed & Mackay has appointed Pauline Houston to the newly created position of global managing director of its dedicated events division.
The TMC said Houston’s appointment demonstrates its “continued investment” in events following its June acquisition of Italian travel and events company Regent International as well as the recent additions of James Kent as head of growth and Emma Chamberlain as commercial director, M&E supply. The company has also expanded its event teams in Spain, France and the Nordics.
Houston joins the company with more than 25 years’ experience in business travel, meetings and events, having held senior leadership roles across sales and supplier management for CWT, American Express GBT and BCD Travel. Most recently, she was the SVP of business development for serviced apartment booking platform SilverDoor and is currently the chair of GBTA’s WINiT EMEA chapter.
Commenting on her new role, Houston said: “I’m excited to be joining Reed & Mackay Events at a time when meetings and events are on the rise, with companies that know the value of bringing team members together to collaborate, drive innovative strategies and support talent retention.”
Julie Oliver, CEO UK, Europe, and global events at Reed & Mackay, added: “We are committed to offering a value proposition to our clients that offers transient travel alongside team offsites and full event management under one contract. Pauline will support me and the wider team to continue our global growth strategy.”
Reed & Mackay, as part of the Navan Group, is currently ranked as the fourth largest TMC in Europe, according to BTN Europe’s Leading TMCs 2024 report.
