Finnair is to bolster its long-haul schedule in summer 2025 by adding more flights on existing routes to China, Japan and the US.
The Oneworld alliance member said it would be operating its largest ever schedule of services to the US next year, with flights to Asia also reaching their highest level since 2019.
Finnair will increase flights from Helsinki to Osaka from five per week to daily from 30 March, while services to Nagoya will double from two to four per week. The airline also flies daily to both Tokyo airports, Haneda and Narita.
In China, the carrier’s flights from Helsinki to Shanghai will increase from three to four per week for summer 2025.
On its transatlantic routes, Finnair will increase flights to Dallas from six per week to 11 weekly next summer, while services to Los Angeles will rise from three to five times per week. The Helsinki-Chicago route will also be upgraded to a daily service from its current schedule of five weekly flights.
Anssi Partanen, Finnair’s market director for Europe, said: “Our customers have always valued our seamless connections to Asia, so to be expanding our presence in both China and Japan - including on our newest route to Nagoya - shows the continued trust in Finnair as a leading long-haul carrier.
“We are equally excited to be expanding across the Atlantic, boasting our largest ever schedule between Helsinki and the US, which shows our commitment to connecting customers between Europe, Asia and the US.”
Finnair is also just about to boost its services between Helsinki and London Heathrow, with flights set to increase from four to six times per day from 27 October. The extra two daily flights have been timed to connect with the airline’s new long-haul services.
